In this photo obscurer is used to cover the model's face with a flower. The idea of an anti photo is used primarily by Lee Friedlander, in his 'anti-self portrait' series, and is interesting due to a self portrait usually displaying the model's face. the use of yellow in this photograph is very effective. as both the background and the flower, and to some extent, the model's hair, are all some shade of yellow, however, when you move towards the centre of the image (the flower), the yellow becomes darker in a gradient-like effect.

Low key lighting uses only soft boxes and a black background. This creates emotional photos using the chiaroscuro effect, as the deep dramatic lighting contrasts with the light from the soft box. In this image, the subject is looking directly at the light, illuminating his whole face. This highlights the features on the right side, whilst darkening the left side creating a dramatic effect. However, the expression on the model's face changes this effect, with the smirk it could be interpreted as mystery or equally as a wistful expression. The monochrome filter creates an unsaturated image in which the details are brought out, for example the dimples by the mouth.

High key lighting uses a white background with two spotlights on it to light it up with two soft boxes are focused on the model. This style is traditionally used for weddings and fashion photography; hence the image is positive. The movement of the confetti creates an effective motion blur within the image, as the model is predominantly focused on, whereas the confetti itself is not.
